Houston, MO is the hometown of Emmett Kelly, Sr., who was known as "Weary Willie", the world-famous clown. In his honor, the city of Houston is host to an annual festival of frivolity known as the Emmett Kelly Festival. The festival is always the first weekend in May.
Keeping the tradition, Joey Kelly, grandson of Emmett Kelly, Sr. returns to Houston every year to reprise his grandfather's role.
